Jobs and a Revitalized Industry

Retain Our #1 Position

The United States needs to retain our #1 position in innovation and entrepreneurship. Innovation develops from imagination coupled with science, and energy holds the key.

  • Invest in 21st century energy sources. Wind and solar will provide millions of jobs and clean the air we breathe. Instead of importing foreign technology, American workers should be building wind turbines, solar cells, and green roofs. We can create our own technology corridor, build interconnected rail systems, modernize our infrastructure, and develop new technologies for domestic use and exportation.
  • We invented the automobile. Now is the time to re-claim our heritage by re-inventing cars in America, with new clean fuel technologies, high efficiency standards, and zero dependence on foreign oil. We did it before, and we can do it again.
  • Homes, offices, schools, and public buildings need to be redesigned to be energy-efficient. Let’s give tax incentives to businesses to provide energy efficiency in old and new structures and tax breaks to home and building owners who choose such improvements.

Let’s draw our inspiration from Senator Byrd’s record
